NOTE: This conference has been organized solely for the Arbitration Support and Knowledge (ASK) Group, which comprises Professional Support Lawyers and Practice Managers from all major city law firms. The conference will consist of presentations on the topic, followed by a panel discussion. First, Jon Tweedale from Addleshaw Goddard LLC will give a general introduction on some of the key issues that arise in Third Party Funding, such as champerty, due diligence, and an agreement with the funder. Subsequently, Andrea Dahlberg from Allen & Overy LLP will be speaking about some of the relevant case law, including Oxus Gold v. Republic of Uzbekistan and the ICSID case, Kardassopoulos v. Georgia. Finally, Selvyn Seidel from Fulbrook Capital Management LLC will be discussing several issues regarding the perspective of the funder.
